With the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) just two days away, a survey revealed that one in two test-takers plans to work part-time after completing the exam.
On the 12th, Alba Heaven, a part-time job portal, surveyed 931 students preparing for the CSAT about what they want to do after the exam. Among the respondents, 51.9% said they would "work part-time." Other activities students wanted to do after the CSAT included ▲traveling 9.8%, ▲resting 9.1%, ▲hanging out freely with friends 5.2%, and ▲learning a new hobby 4.9%.
By gender, 46.7% of male students expressed a desire to work part-time, while 53.6% of female students said the same.
Among students with no prior part-time job experience, 71.6% said they would work part-time. In contrast, only 37.6% of students with part-time job experience wished to work part-time again.
The main reason for wanting to work part-time was "to earn money independently," cited by 59% (multiple responses allowed). This was followed by ▲saving a lump sum for tuition or travel at 37.7%, and ▲wanting to experience part-time work itself at 37.5%.
Among the test-takers, 36.9% were already seeking part-time jobs before the CSAT. Those planning to look for jobs immediately after the exam accounted for 30%, and 20.5% said they would start job hunting the week after the CSAT.
The most important working condition for students when looking for part-time jobs was wage level (53%, multiple responses allowed). The desired hourly wage for their first part-time job was 11,320 KRW per hour.
