Damyang-gun Successfully Concludes the 2nd Farmers' Hanmadang Festival

On the 12th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it successfully concluded the 2nd Damyang-gun Farmers' Festival held on the 11th.

Organized by the Agricultural Chamber, the event commemorated the 29th Farmers' Day by creating a festive venue for all farmers in Damyang-gun to enjoy, featuring various programs such as awards for exemplary farmers, sports competitions, and singing contests.

The event heated up before the opening ceremony with farmers showcasing their honed talents as the main participants, and the opening ceremony was filled with demonstrations such as the 'Rice Threshing' performance celebrating Damyang rice, known for its clear bamboo forest quality, winning the top 10 high-quality brand rice in Jeonnam for 14 consecutive years.

In the second part, the lively festival atmosphere continued with enthusiastic participation and warm responses from farmers through cheerful sports games, singing contests, and congratulatory performances.

County Governor Lee Byeong-no expressed, "I sincerely offer my condolences to the farmers who must have endured great hardships due to frequent rain, heatwaves, pests, and diseases caused by abnormal weather every year," and emphasized, "I express my gratitude and respect to the farmers who steadfastly continue agriculture despite any adversity, and Damyang-gun will continue to share concerns and provide unwavering support for the difficulties faced by farmers."

Meanwhile, the event also held an awards ceremony to promote the honor and pride of farmers who contributed to agricultural development and practiced exemplary management, awarding 11 recipients across five categories: 2 outstanding farmers, 2 leading farmers, and exemplary farmers.
