Daejin University Signs Industry-Academia MOU with Agos Co., Ltd. for SW Security Talent Development

Department of Smart Convergence Security Collaborates to Foster Security Talent in Drone Industry and SW Technology Fields

SW development specialist company Agos Co., Ltd. announced on the 12th that it will actively cooperate with Daejin University’s Department of Smart Convergence Security to nurture security talents in the drone industry and SW technology fields.

The Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University signed a business agreement with Agos Co., Ltd. on October 23rd at Daejin University to foster security talents in the SW technology field. Attendees at the signing ceremony included Professor Son Bang-yong, head of Daejin University’s Digital Talent Development Project Group, Professor Lee Seong-jin, head of the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University, Navy Colonel Park Gil-yong, head of the Drone Education Research Center at the Drone Operations Command, Senior Researcher Park Seong-jin from LIG Nex1, and CEO Moon Seong-won of Agos Co., Ltd.


This business agreement consists of collaborative activities such as participation in the curriculum innovation committee reflecting industry demands, mid- to long-term internship participation and industry-academia project cooperation, and operational cooperation for SW/AI major and convergence education.


Professor Lee Seong-jin, head of the department, stated, "Through this business agreement, we will actively promote activities for students’ successful entry into society, and we will actively reflect industry demands to cultivate cybersecurity professionals who can promptly respond to field requirements."


On the day of the agreement ceremony, Park Gil-yong, head of the Drone Education Research Center at the Drone Operations Command, Senior Researcher Park Seong-jin from defense industry company LIG Nex1, and Director Kim Su-rin from Agos Co., Ltd. attended and gave special lectures on SW and drones for students of the Department of Smart Convergence Security.


Meanwhile, Daejin University is the only four-year comprehensive university in northern Gyeonggi Province. The Department of Smart Convergence Security was newly established in 2023 and is currently in its second year of operation. It is striving to nurture talents in convergence security fields such as cybersecurity and physical security for the advanced industries of northern Gyeonggi.
