Kim Hee-jung Appointed as Chairman of Korea Road Traffic Authority... "Safe Traffic Environment for the People"

The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 12th that it held the inauguration ceremony of Chairman Kim Hee-jung at the headquarters in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

Chairman Kim, originally from Gurye, Jeollanam-do, graduated from Dongguk University with a degree in Police Administration and entered the police force in 1993. He served as the Head of the Autonomous Police Division at the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, Director of the Criminal Affairs Bureau at the National Police Agency, Director of the Police Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and concluded his 31-year public service career as the Chief of the Incheon Police Agency in 2024.

Chairman Kim emphasized key tasks including ▲ensuring the safety of vulnerable road users ▲listening to the public’s opinions ▲collaborating with various organizations ▲responding to changing management environments ▲and innovating existing work procedures and methods.

Chairman Kim stated, “We will realize traffic safety that the public can feel, and not merely reduce traffic accidents but create a traffic environment where the public can feel secure beyond safety.”
