Maxst, Korea Rail Network Authority Selected as Preferred Negotiation Partner for 'Navigation Platform' Development

Maxst announced on the 12th that it has been selected as the preferred negotiation partner for the "Development of a Video Positioning-Based Station Navigation Platform Research Service" commissioned by the Korea Rail Network Authority's Railway Innovation Research Institute.

This service involves the development of a platform to improve mobility convenience within stations for transportation-vulnerable groups, tourists, and foreigners, utilizing Maxst's Visual Positioning System (VPS) and Digital Twin technologies.

Maxst will create 360-degree spatial maps at Seoul Station and Suseo Station and implement four types of services. These four services include voice-supported ▲mobile augmented reality (AR) navigation service ▲3D station preview service ▲digital twin integrated spatial management platform ▲mobile web-based 360-view navigation service.

The development of the station navigation platform is expected to enhance user convenience. Since GPS cannot be used indoors, existing map services are unavailable; however, by utilizing Maxst's AR navigation, finding routes within complex and crowded major stations becomes easier. Users can easily check their current location and receive recommended shortest routes upon entering their destination. For transportation-vulnerable individuals who have difficulty using stairs, the navigation provides routes reflecting their needs.

Another advantage is the ability to explore information in advance through the 3D station preview service. Users can experience a realistic sense of the site before arriving at the station by viewing it in 360 degrees. Multilingual support is also provided, making it effective for foreign tourists visiting Korea.

A Maxst representative stated, "Following the recent project to build a three-dimensional space of Gocheok I-Park Mall through 360-degree camera scanning, we have now been entrusted with developing a navigation platform for major domestic stations." They added, "This was possible because our advanced technological capabilities, such as digital twin, were recognized. We will continue to expand our acquisition of major domestic and international development projects."
