Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 12th that it conducted education on the prevention of the four major types of violence and a campaign to foster a gender-equal organizational culture for about 70 new public officials and others at the county office's large conference room.
Geochang-gun is conducting education on the prevention of the four major types of violence for new public officials.
In this education session, Kim Hyang-sook, an instructor from the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, provided detailed explanations on the definitions and prevention methods of the four major types of violence (sexual harassment, sexual violence, prostitution, and domestic violence), and taught practical behavioral guidelines for violence prevention.
Along with the education, a campaign to promote a gender-equal organizational culture was also conducted. During the campaign, snacks with the phrase "Gender equality is an important foundation for organizational growth and innovation. Let us respect and support each other" were distributed to employees, emphasizing the importance of gender equality.
County Governor Goo In-mo stated, "Preventing the four major types of violence and establishing a gender-equal organizational culture is the first step toward creating a safe and comfortable workplace environment," adding, "We will continue to realize a fair and respectful organizational culture through ongoing education and campaigns."
New public officials who participated in the education expressed, "Our understanding of violence prevention and gender equality has deepened, and we gained a lot of knowledge on how to apply this in our daily work."
Meanwhile, Geochang-gun plans to continue regular education and campaigns to maintain a safe working environment free from violence for public officials and to further establish a gender-equal organizational culture.
