Singing Bowl, Geomungo, Haegum, and Dance Art Therapy
Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) announced on the 12th that the stage performance "Iru Malhal Su Eomneun..." which combines sound, meditation, and dance, will be held twice at Baeksan Hall inside the Citizen Sarangchae of Busan Citizens Park at 7 PM on the 15th and 3 PM on the 16th as part of the 2024 Random Art Project Small Room planned performance. Admission is free for all citizens.
This performance is supported by the 2024 Busan Culture and Arts Support Project for multidisciplinary arts, hosted and organized by the "Random Art Project Small Room" led by Jin Young-ah, a lecturer in the Department of Dance at Pusan National University. By richly integrating sound, meditation, and dance, it aims to let artistic experiences permeate individual lives and provide a creative experience of art healing.
First, the singing bowl breaks down the solid framework of consciousness and prepares for an inner journey, and the timbres of the geomungo and haegeum, which stimulate the depths of emotion, along with voice performance, embody the meditation of the body through sound, presenting a dynamic healing process realized through dance.
The overall direction is led by Jin Young-ah, a lecturer at Pusan National University, and ten performers including lecturers, current students, and graduates of the Department of Dance at Pusan National University will appear to offer a special space where body and mind resonate.
The singing bowl will be played by Kim Hyun-joo, president of the Isha International Healing Singing Bowl Association, and the geomungo and haegeum will be performed by Professor Kwon Eun-young and Lecturer Choi Yu-ri of the Korean Music Department at Pusan National University, respectively.
