Jung-gu to Elect Redevelopment Association President Candidates via 'YouTube Broadcast'

Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) will hold a joint live broadcast of the candidates for the president of the Jungnim-dong 398 Housing Redevelopment Project Association on the YouTube channel ‘Seoul Jung-gu Office’ starting at 7 p.m. on the 12th.

The joint live broadcast of candidates is the first attempt in the election for the president of a maintenance project association. Due to the nature of redevelopment in the city center, many association members reside in other areas, so the district prepared this plan to provide sufficient information about the candidates to the members and help them make the right choice.

Two candidates have run for the presidency of the Jungnim-dong 398 Redevelopment Association, which is promoting direct establishment by the association. During the live broadcast, each candidate will express their career, strengths, project promotion direction, and determination, appealing for residents’ support.

In addition, residents will be able to hear in-depth opinions from the candidates on questions received in advance, such as strategies to increase project feasibility, communication methods with association members, plans to ensure integrity and transparency, clarifications on false news, and special projects they particularly want to implement.

Jung-gu is applying the verified ‘Jung-gu-type public support’ to the election of executives of the Jungnim-dong 398 Redevelopment Association. To enhance the fairness of the election, external experts from various fields such as lawyers, architects, appraisers, and judicial scriveners were recommended as election management committee members, and various versions of election guide videos were produced to improve understanding of the complicated election methods.

Also, on the 8th, a joint speech meeting for candidates for association executives was held at the Jungnim-dong Community Service Center. Especially in this association president election, not only the joint live broadcast of candidates but also the newly introduced advance electronic voting are activating residents’ interest and participation in the election. The association president and executives will be elected through advance voting on the 15th and 16th and the main vote at the association’s inaugural general meeting on the 21st.

The Jungnim-dong 398 Redevelopment Project is planned to be developed on a scale of six apartment buildings (from 5 basement floors to 25 above-ground floors) with 791 households moving in, and there are a total of 428 landowners and owners with voting rights.
