New President of Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Support Corporation Appointed: Kim Bokhwan


Kim Bok-hwan, former Deputy Director of the Innovation City Development Promotion Team at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, was inaugurated as the new president of the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) on the 11th.


KIND is a public institution under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport established to support domestic companies' overseas investment and development projects.


President Kim graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Economics and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Leeds in the UK. He entered public service in 1994 by passing the 38th Administrative Examination and has held positions such as Director of Railway Safety Policy, Director of Urban Policy, and Deputy Director of the Innovation City Development Promotion Team at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. He also served as the Land and Transport Attach? at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).


President Kim stated, "We will expand KIND's scale through efforts to strengthen public functions such as government-to-government (G2G) cooperation and package entry with related organizations. We will pioneer the overseas investment and development project (PPP) market and lead projects to achieve 'One Team Korea' contract successes."
