Two Cities Propose Direction for 'Expanded Cooperation'

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that from the 8th to the 10th, a delegation from Zhizhou City, China visited Gurye-gun to explore ways to expand exchanges between the two regions in the fields of culture, tourism, and industry.


At the welcome ceremony held on the first day at Jirisan Resort, Deputy Governor Lee Gil-yong, Gurye-gun Council Chairman Jang Gil-seon, and other Gurye-gun officials attended, strengthening the friendly relations between the two regions and expressing their commitment to enhancing future cooperation.

Kim Gyeong-pung, Director of the Standing Committee of the Zhizhou People's Congress, said, "The exchange between Gurye-gun and Zhizhou City marked its 20th anniversary last year," adding, "Looking forward to the 40th anniversary, we hope that cooperation between the two provinces will become more active."


The delegation toured Gurye's representative tourist sites, Hwaeomsa Temple and Saseongam Hermitage, experiencing the beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. Based on this, they discussed the potential for cooperation in the tourism sector between the two regions.


The delegation also visited Natural Dream Park to observe a complex space model combining an agro-industrial complex with culture and arts, reviewing cooperation plans with Zhizhou City's Korea-China Semiconductor Industrial Complex.


Deputy Governor Lee Gil-yong said, "Gurye is a special region where natural scenery and traditional culture harmonize. Taking this visit as an opportunity, I hope the local cultural and tourism resources will become widely known and the cooperative relationship between the two cities will deepen," adding, "We will continue sustained exchanges with Zhizhou City in various fields in the future."
