This project aims to create a distinctive premium food street that blends tradition and modernity, with a total project cost of 1 billion KRW (50% provincial funds, 50% city funds) invested in the production and installation of public facilities on Hong-eo Street.
The main components include the installation of a 'Hong-eo character sculpture,' production of 'design signboards,' and installation of 'storytelling guide signs and photo zones.'
Along with the project explanation, the Public Health Center guided the attending merchants on practical measures to improve visitor satisfaction, such as operating 'Hong-eo Street Beautification Day,' 'Water Cleaning Day,' and compliance with origin labeling, urging active participation through signing pledges.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae stated, “Based on the proactive participation and cooperation of merchants and residents, Yeongsanpo Hong-eo Street is expected to be reborn as a comprehensive tourist destination that offers not only the taste of traditionally fermented Hong-eo but also enhanced scenery and cultural appeal.”
