Female Student Who Got 60,000 Won Nail Service "Urgent Bathroom Need" and Left Without Paying... Only 5,000 Won on Transportation Card

Victimized Store Owner: "I Hope They Surrender Quickly and Reflect"

A female student who fled after receiving a nail treatment costing around 60,000 won, leaving behind only a transportation card with 5,000 won balance, has been caught on camera, sparking controversy.

JTBC's 'Sageon Banjang' reported on the 6th the story of a victim business owner, Mr. A, who suffered a so-called 'muktwi' (eat-and-run) incident at a nail shop in Gimhae, Gyeongnam. According to Mr. A, the student came back shortly after receiving the nail treatment on a weekday morning with her nails already peeled off by herself.

When Mr. A asked the student why she came to the shop in the morning instead of going to school, the student replied, "My mom is a nail artist, and when she saw my nails were a mess, she told me to get a nail treatment immediately." The student then explained that since her mother was busy, she came to Mr. A's shop.

However, during the procedure, the student requested additional services such as nail extensions and eyelash extensions. Feeling suspicious, Mr. A said, "There is a reserved customer after you, so I can only do gel nails," and refused. During the process, the student suddenly said she urgently needed to use the restroom and left, turning Mr. A's concerns into reality.

After waiting for a long time, the student did not return, and Mr. A called the contact number left by the student during the procedure, but someone else answered. The card left behind for payment turned out to be a transportation card with only 5,000 won remaining.

Mr. A said, "After reporting to the police, I submitted the CCTV footage," adding, "I heard that these days, many students commit crimes knowing they are juvenile offenders. Even if caught, most cases end with their parents compensating and the matter closing." He continued, "I somehow feel this student has done 'muktwi' before and came to our shop. Everything the student said seems like a lie, and I worry about her future. I hope she surrenders soon and reflects on her actions."

Netizens who heard the news reacted with comments such as, "It's strange that the student went to a nail shop instead of school on a weekday morning," "She should be caught someday and embarrassed to come to her senses," "It's shocking that such a young student is already like this," and "It seems like the world has become one where exploiting others for personal gain is normal."
