Building an Integrated Lifelong Learning Platform to Enhance Accessibility and Convenience

Dangjin City, Chungnam Province, was selected as an "Excellent Lifelong Learning City" in the "2024 Lifelong Learning City Re-designation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Institute for Lifelong Education. Dangjin City in Chungnam Province was selected as an "Excellent Lifelong Learning City" in the "2024 Lifelong Learning City Re-designation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Institute for Lifelong Education, and on the 8th received a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister as well as a plaque for excellent cities.

There are 199 lifelong learning cities nationwide, and among the 64 cities at the municipal level, only 6 are selected as "Excellent Lifelong Learning Cities."

Dangjin City was highly evaluated for its achievements in building an integrated lifelong learning platform to improve accessibility and convenience, providing opportunities for citizen-led participation in mid- to long-term lifelong education development plans, and expanding participation opportunities for marginalized groups (such as people with disabilities and those with borderline intelligence), earning the honor of being named an "Excellent Lifelong Learning City."

Mayor Oh Seonghwan stated, "The role of lifelong education is very important in creating 'A Vibrant Dangjin, Opening the Future Together,'" and added, "We will continue to provide lifelong learning opportunities that foster future competencies so that Dangjin becomes a city where all citizens want to live."

Meanwhile, Dangjin City won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Korea Lifelong Learning Awards and continues its reputation in 2024 by being selected as an Excellent Lifelong Learning City at the national level.
