Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Awarded 'Korea Sharing National Grand Prize'

Contribution to Fulfilling Social Responsibility and Promoting a Culture of Sharing

Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 11th that it received an award in the material sharing category for the first time among port authorities at the ‘13th Korea Sharing National Awards 2024’ ceremony held recently at the KBS New Building Public Hall in Yeouido, Seoul.


Now in its 13th year, the ‘Korea Sharing National Awards’ is the highest honor in the field of social contribution, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), and the Community Chest of Korea. Every year, it discovers and rigorously verifies individuals and organizations contributing to the improvement of national welfare in the fields of human sharing, material sharing, life sharing, and hope mentoring, and presents awards accordingly.

On this day, the Authority was honored to receive the award on behalf of private organizations in recognition of its efforts to spread a warm culture of sharing in the local community through various social contribution projects, as well as its contributions to welfare enhancement for vulnerable groups and regional coexistence.


Since its establishment in 2011, the Authority has been carrying out various activities for coexistence with the local community, including the YGPA Happiness Scholarship project, revitalization of traditional markets, Warm Meal for Job Seekers, Hope Stepping Stones for Children with Special Disabilities, Dagachi Kiwoomae for supporting multicultural families, and the Obaek Noodles project for creating jobs for low-income groups.
