"All reports were made to Myeong Taegyun... Confirmed as the Actual Owner"
Gang Hye-kyung, who was the accounting manager for former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-sun, claimed that Myung Tae-gyun is the actual owner of the public opinion research firm Mirae Korea Research Institute, stating, "Myung gave instructions on tasks such as public opinion polls, and I also reported everything to him." Myung is suspected of conducting illegal public opinion polls through Mirae Korea Research Institute during the 2022 presidential election.
On the 11th, Gang said on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' that "I have never received any work instructions from, nor reported to, Kim Mo, the registered representative of Mirae Korea Research Institute."
Gang claimed that Myung conducted 81 public opinion polls worth approximately 375 million won for President Yoon Suk-yeol and was promised the nomination for the by-election of former lawmaker Kim. The registered representative Kim is known to be a former aide to Kim, but Kim said that he only lent his name and that Myung has been running the operations in practice.
Gang also expressed concerns that the prosecution's investigation into Myung might have been scaled down. When the host asked, "The prosecution investigated Gang eight times, but Myung was only questioned twice. Why is there such a difference?" Gang replied, "The amount of investigation was very extensive, but the investigation into Myung ended in just two days, which was a bit puzzling," adding, "It could have ended quickly if Myung denied all charges, but on the other hand, I worry that there might be some agreement with higher-ups leading to a lenient or scaled-down investigation."
Gang denied that Myung ever received money as a reward for the nomination, responding to Myung's claim, "Trace the accounts and see if I received even one won," by saying, "Myung was a credit delinquent and did not have a bank account." She explained, "When Myung asked me to cover living expenses such as rent, maintenance fees, city gas bills, and mobile phone charges, I transferred money from my account to accounts in Myung's or his spouse's name," adding, "I have all the records of those transfers."
She further claimed, "Money given by local election preliminary candidates is illegal, unofficial funding, so it comes in cash," and stated, "Some of it was received by Myung, and some was received at the office."
