The National Productivity Conference is an event hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Productivity Center, awarding outstanding companies, corporations, organizations, and contributors who have achieved excellent management performance through exemplary productivity improvement activities.

Since its reestablishment as an integrated corporation in 2017, the agency has faithfully fulfilled its role as a comprehensive support institution for small and medium-sized venture businesses by providing full-cycle support including startup and commercialization, investment, export, as well as fostering science and technology R&D, cluster formation, bio and regional specialized industries.

Additionally, this year, the agency ranked first for the first time since the integration of institutions in the Gyeonggi-do public institution management evaluation. The agency received high praise for actively practicing RE100 management by conducting paperless administration and all reporting using tablet PCs, earning the Governor's Award on the 4th.

On the same day, the agency was recognized for excellent performance in the Gyeonggi-do responsibility contract evaluation, receiving the Governor's Award along with an increase in special personnel quota.

The responsibility contract was piloted last year by Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi-do to emphasize the responsibilities and roles of public institutions that have a significant impact on the lives of residents.

Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, said, "The consecutive awards are the fruits of innovative efforts made with the residents as the top priority and to support small businesses," adding, "We will continue to be an institution that does its best for the continuous growth and development of small businesses by creating change and opportunities."
