Gyeonggi Province's largest and most advanced companion animal protection and treatment facility, along with a complex cultural space, Banryeomaru Yeoju, celebrated its first anniversary by hosting a congratulatory event with its 680th adopter after the adoption pledge.
Banryeomaru Yeoju held its opening ceremony on November 11 last year to promote animal welfare, the value of life, and the establishment of cultural industries. Prior to its official opening, in September, it urgently rescued and protected 583 breeding dogs from a breeding farm in Hwaseong.

The Banryeomaru Yeoju Adoption Center operates with the goal of minimizing euthanasia of abandoned animals and promoting adoption culture by selecting animals at risk of euthanasia, providing health checkups, vaccinations, animal registration, and neutering surgeries, and protecting them on the premise of adoption.
Over the course of one year, Banryeomaru Yeoju has protected a total of 923 abandoned and rescued animals, among which 680 found new guardians. Additionally, at the end of the year, adoptive families gather at Banryeomaru Yeoju for a Homecoming Day to check on each other and celebrate.
Lee Eun-kyung, Director of the Companion Animal Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "During the one year of Banryeomaru Yeoju's operation, 680 abandoned animals have found new homes, reflecting the maturing adoption culture for abandoned dogs in Gyeonggi Province. We ask for the interest of Gyeonggi residents so that the remaining 88 animals urgently rescued from the Hwaseong breeding farm, as well as other abandoned animals protected at Banryeomaru Yeoju, can find adoptive families."
