Establishment of a New Factory on a 29,006㎡ Site
Secondary battery company KGA is establishing its base in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.

On the 10th, Pyeongtaek City announced that it signed an investment agreement with KGA for the Pyeongtaek Brain City General Industrial Complex at the City Hall External Cooperation Office on the 8th. The signing ceremony was attended by Jeong Jang-seon, mayor of Pyeongtaek, and Kim Ok-tae, CEO of KGA, among others.
Under this agreement, the company will invest 70 billion KRW to build a factory on a 29,006㎡ site within the Pyeongtaek Brain City General Industrial Complex and employ about 200 workers. KGA is a secondary battery process equipment, duct automation equipment manufacturing, and solution specialist company headquartered in Hwaseong City.
The city stated, "Secondary batteries are an essential industry for establishing a diverse value chain alongside semiconductors, hydrogen, and future automobiles, which are the city's next-generation growth engines." It added, "KGA, which is growing based on excellent technology, is a company with great potential due to the expansion of the electric vehicle market."
Mayor Jeong said, "We will faithfully implement the contents of the agreement and provide active administrative support to ensure that the factory can operate within the planned timeframe."
Meanwhile, the city will hold the '2024 Pyeongtaek City Investment Attraction Briefing' at Anfelis Convention near Pyeongtaek Jije Station on the 26th. Companies wishing to participate can inquire through the Pyeongtaek City website, the Future Advanced Industry Division of Pyeongtaek City Hall, or the Pyeongtaek Industry Promotion Agency.
