Lee Si-yoon, a master of civil procedure law and the former Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection who laid the foundation for South Korea's Constitutional Court, passed away on the 9th at the age of 89.
He passed the 10th Higher Civil Service Examination in the judicial category in 1958 and served as Chief Judge of the Seoul Criminal District Court, Chief Judge of the Seoul High Court, and Chief Judge of the Suwon District Court. From 1988 to 1993, he served as a Justice of the Constitutional Court, and from 1993 to 1997, he was the 16th Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection.
Surviving family members include his sons Gwang-deuk and Hang-deuk, daughters-in-law Kim Ja-ho and Lee Sun-young, granddaughter Ji-won, and grandson-in-law Ryu Seong-ju.
The funeral is being held at Shinchon Severance Hospital Funeral Hall, Special Room 1. The funeral procession will take place at 7:40 a.m. on the 12th, and the burial site is at Wadong Family Cemetery in Ansan City.
