Mother and Child Cancel Order After Counting Coins at Kimbap Restaurant... Moved by Customer Who Paid Instead and Left

Calculated on behalf but worried if it's "Ojirap"...

A touching story has emerged about another customer paying for a mother and child who tried to cancel their order at a snack bar due to insufficient funds. The story was shared recently on the online community 'Bobaedream' under the title 'At the Snack Bar Yesterday at Lunch.'

According to the post on the 10th, the author explained, "I was eating ramen and a roll of kimbap at a snack bar in front of the office when a mother and her son, who looked about five or six years old, came in together." The author added, "The mother looked at the menu on the wall and ordered one ramen and one roll of kimbap."

After ordering, the mother checked the money she had in her pocket. It was only a few bills and some coins. The author recalled, "(She counted the money and) suddenly canceled the ramen. The kitchen said the ramen was already being prepared and couldn't be canceled," and thought to themselves, "I guess she didn't have enough money." Witnessing this, the author said, "Since I was eating and didn't want to make a fuss, I hurriedly finished my meal and paid for the mother and child's food at the counter. But I also wondered if I was being unnecessarily meddlesome."

Contrary to worries, many were moved by the author's kind act. Comments included, "I hope the world becomes one where people are this considerate," and "The child might not understand, but the mother must be very grateful. It was a wonderful and commendable thing to do."

In response to these reactions, the author humbly stated, "Before paying, I worried many times whether I might have hurt the mother's feelings even more," and added, "I still think I wasn't admirable at all and might have hurt the mother's pride."
