DOTY is an international award ceremony organized by "Vado e Torno Edizioni," a global powertrain and commercial vehicle specialized publishing group in Italy. Since 2006, it has annually selected the most outstanding diesel engines in terms of technological innovation and performance improvement. This is the first time a domestic company has been selected as the Diesel Engine of the Year.
The company stated that the awarded 5ℓ and 7.5ℓ engines received high praise for boasting best-in-class power through optimized combustion chamber design and advanced fuel injection systems, as well as improving fuel efficiency by up to 8% compared to previous models.
Additionally, the engines meet the highest-level emission regulations in Europe and the United States, 'Stage 5' and 'Tier 4 Final,' respectively, and can use hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), a low-carbon bio-oil, as fuel, which is expected to play an important role in the transition to carbon neutrality.
Kim Joong-soo, head of the Engine Business Division at HD Hyundai Infracore, said, "We will continue sustainable innovation in power solutions, including industrial engines."
