The Dangjin City Council in South Chungcheong Province will expand its legal advisory system from one to two legal advisors to enhance legal consultation and support for legislative activities.

The council has reappointed Choi Cheolsun, an attorney from Taeyul Law Firm (1st Bar Exam), whose term had expired, and newly appointed Kim Seongil, an attorney from Anshim Law Firm (41st Judicial Research and Training Institute class).

The term for legal advisors is one year. Their responsibilities include providing consultation on lawsuits involving the council, advising on petitions and bill reviews, and interpreting other legal matters.

Attorney Choi Cheolsun graduated from Yeungnam University Law School, passed the 1st Bar Exam in 2012, worked at Korea Development Bank, and is currently practicing at Taeyul Law Firm. He has also served as a village attorney in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and as a public defender at the Supreme Court and Seoul Central District Court.

Notably, in 2016, he worked as a legal advisor at the Dangjin City Hall Audit and Legal Affairs Office, and since 2023, he has been serving as a legal advisor for the Dangjin City Council.

Attorney Kim Seongil graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in law, passed the 51st Bar Exam in 2009, and completed the 41st class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 2012.

He has since worked at Minhoo Law Firm, Gayul Law Firm, and Anda Law Firm, gaining extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, as well as family and administrative lawsuits.

He has also served as a member of the Ministry of Education Information Disclosure Review Committee and as a civil mediation commissioner at the Seosan Branch of the Daejeon District Court. He is currently an attorney at Anshim Law Firm.

Both attorneys are young and talented legal professionals from Dangjin, currently active in Seoul, and are expected to make significant contributions to the legislative activities and development of the Dangjin City Council based on their diverse experience and expertise.

Chairman Seo Younghoon stated, "Since 2012, we have operated the legal advisor system with only one attorney, which made it difficult to meet the increasingly diverse and sophisticated policy demands. With the new two-advisor system, we expect to greatly enhance our legislative capacity and expertise."
