A foreign passenger caused a disturbance by insisting on sitting in a flight attendant emergency exit seat on a Korean Air aircraft.

Korean Air announced on the 8th that a foreign male passenger, Mr. A, caused a disturbance on flight KE658, which departed from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand on the 7th and arrived at Incheon Airport around 4:45 a.m. the next day, but was subdued by flight attendants and passengers.

A video posted on social media by a passenger capturing the scene shows Mr. A heading toward the flight attendant-only seat near the emergency exit.

Upon noticing this, a flight attendant immediately requested him to return to his own seat. However, Mr. A refused to comply, threatened the flight attendant, and shouted loudly. Then, male flight attendants subdued and brought him down.

Flight attendants, including the chief purser, reportedly warned Mr. A multiple times about violating the Aviation Security Act. Following instructions, they subdued Mr. A and moved him to a separate area away from other passengers.

The flight had 238 passengers on board but arrived at Incheon Airport without any issues. Immediately after landing, the passenger was handed over to the Incheon Airport Police for investigation.

Korean Air stated, "We will take strong action against illegal disruptive behavior that threatens passenger safety on board," and added, "We plan to respond strictly to similar cases in the future."
