Dongtan City Hospital announced that it held a project briefing session for the Care Medical Center to identify medical welfare blind spots on October 14th at the auditorium on the first floor of Hwaseong Volunteer Center.

This briefing session was conducted targeting the Hwaseong District Council of the Korean Red Cross, which plays an important role in discovering and supporting vulnerable groups in need of care medical services, such as elderly living alone and basic livelihood security recipients in the district.

On that day, the session included an introduction to the Visiting Care Medical Center project, status updates, presentation of treatment performance cases, explanations on referral and linkage methods, and a time to share opinions and Q&A, providing concrete information for connection and cooperation.

The ‘Visiting Gyeonggi-do Hwaseong City Care Medical Center’ consists of a care medical team made up of doctors, nurses, social workers, and physical therapists who visit applicants’ homes to provide medical services such as examinations, prescriptions, vital sign measurements, various tests, nutrition education and counseling, and lifestyle management. If care is needed, they also guide linkage to social welfare services within the community.

Anyone in Hwaseong with mobility difficulties can apply. When the patient or guardian applies by phone to Dongtan City Hospital, after a brief consultation and health assessment, the care medical team visits the applicant’s home to provide integrated care medical services.

The Hwaseong City-Dongtan City Hospital Care Medical Center opened in July this year and has been actively responding to changes in medical welfare demand due to the recent increase in the elderly population and single-person households. To operate efficiently, it has been working to identify and resolve medical welfare blind spots through a community-related organization council operated together with Dongtan Public Health Center.

Along with Dongtan Public Health Center and various local institutions, the center has been continuously conducting ‘visiting briefing sessions’ targeting residents in the district at apartments and local events to help residents understand the care medical project and to ensure that more residents receive the medical services they need.
