The greenhouse gas reduction practice activity 'Courageous Goyang!' is a project where youth, traditional markets, and citizens create a carbon-neutral culture in daily life through small actions. The foundation’s affiliated facilities?Seongsa Youth Culture House, Ilsan West District Youth Center, and Todang Youth Center?carried out various activities throughout the local community through one-on-one matching with traditional markets, such as creating disposable-free traditional markets, environmental festivals, and resource circulation activities.

In particular, the fact that youth strengthened their capabilities regarding carbon neutrality and directly planned and operated various activities that citizens could participate in, as well as led changes in the local community including market merchant associations, was highly evaluated.

Park Won-sik, president of the Neunggok Traditional Market Merchant Association, said, “I learned a lot while working with the youth, and it became an opportunity to recognize the importance of reducing greenhouse gases. I am grateful to the youth who participated together.”

Park Cha-yong, director of Seongsa Youth Culture House, said, “Although various activities are being carried out throughout society to overcome the climate crisis and reduce greenhouse gases, there are not many activities where youth lead changes in the local community. We will continue to make greater efforts so that the carbon-neutral culture can expand together with the youth.”
