This inspection is a legal obligation of the management responsible for facilities subject to major citizen disasters to check at least once every six months whether safety and health obligations are being fulfilled in accordance with the Serious Accident Punishment Act.

During this inspection, the fulfillment of safety and health obligations at 151 locations, including public use facilities such as bridges, will be checked through documentation. To enhance the effectiveness of this inspection, on-site inspections will be conducted jointly with private safety inspection agencies.

Any safety hazards or deficiencies will be immediately corrected, and through this, a more thorough safety and health system for major citizen disasters will be established.

Moon Eun-kyung, Director of the Safety and Construction Division, said, “We will do our best to educate and guide the facility management departments so that safety management plans can be established and regular inspections can be thoroughly conducted, allowing citizens to use public facilities more safely and conveniently.”

Meanwhile, the joint public-private inspection of facilities subject to major citizen disasters in the first half of the year found 102 points requiring correction, which were immediately addressed, and no serious damage or defects were discovered. The city plans to ensure thorough prevention of major citizen disasters through continuous inspections in the future.
