10 Awards and 207.5 Million KRW Prize Money Awarded
Yoon Tae-sik TL and Others Honored for Improving HBM Test Efficiency
At the SK Hynix in-house innovation patent award ceremony, the key figures behind High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) received the highest prize, the Gold Award.

SK Hynix announced on the 8th that it held the '6th Innovation Patent Award' ceremony at its headquarters in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Started in 2018, the Innovation Patent Award is an event that selects and rewards outstanding patents that overcome technical challenges and contribute significantly to business performance. This year, a total of 10 patents were awarded, including 2 Gold Awards, 3 Silver Awards, and 5 Bronze Awards, with a total prize money of 207.5 million KRW.
SK Hynix stated, "The Innovation Patent Award enhances employees' awareness of patents and boosts research motivation, creating a virtuous cycle that leads to the creation of excellent patents and increased business performance."
The Gold Awards were given to Yoon Tae-sik, AI Infrastructure TL, who patented a technology to improve HBM test efficiency, and Kim Chang-hyun, DRAM Development TL, who developed patents related to improving the efficiency of error correction functions for HBM and DRAM.
TL Yoon said, "I am pleased to be recognized for contributing to enhancing the testing capabilities of core company products such as HBM." TL Kim said, "Memory operation error correction technology is very important for improving memory reliability, so we will continue research and development (R&D) to advance our technological capabilities."
The Silver Awards were presented to Oh Sang-mook and Yoon Tae-sik TLs (AI Infrastructure), Kang Byung-in, Park Nak-gyu, and Lee Han-gyu TLs (P&T), and Lee Ki-hong Manager and Baek Ji-yeon TL (Future Technology Research Institute).
The Bronze Awards were given to Hyun Jin-hoon and Lee Chang-hyun TLs (DRAM Development), Joo No-geun TL (DRAM Development), Choi Eun-ji and Ahn Geun-seon TLs (NAND Flash Development), Na Hyung-joo TL (Solution Development), and Yang Dong-joo and Sa Seung-hoon TLs (CIS Development).
SK Hynix CEO Kwak No-jung, who could not attend the event due to external schedules, emphasized in a written statement, "We will continue technology development and invention for the advancement of the company and the semiconductor industry, further solidifying our position as the world’s number one AI memory company."
Kim Dong-seop, Head of External Cooperation, said, "Through the Innovation Patent Award system, a total of 60 outstanding patents have been selected, recognizing the contributions of in-house talents. We will continue to operate the system and strengthen motivation for technological innovation among employees."
Song Hyun-jong, Head of the Corporate Center, said, "The accumulated talent pool and intellectual assets are key indicators that enhance the value of a technology company. We will continue to encourage employees’ technology development to raise the company’s technological leadership."
