Exemption from Preliminary Feasibility Study - Rapid Advancement of National Industrial Complex Survey and Design Service
On the 6th, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the 'Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex Development Project Investigation and Design Service Kick-off Meeting' in Daegu, hosted by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
This kick-off meeting was an occasion to report the start of planning to concretize the project plan for the 'Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex,' which is being promoted as a national policy project under the government's 'National Advanced Industrial Belt Creation Plan,' and to prepare a plan for Uljin-gun to function as a hub for the East Coast hydrogen economy belt industrial cluster.
The Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex is expected to greatly contribute to strengthening domestic industrial competitiveness, establishing national energy security, and revitalizing the regional economy by building a large-scale hydrogen production base linked to nuclear power plants on a 1.52 million square meter (460,000 pyeong) site in Hujeong-ri, Jukbyeon-myeon, Uljin-gun, with an investment of 387.1 billion KRW.
Through this service, Uljin-gun plans to complete the industrial complex plan by the first half of 2025 in cooperation with LH and officially apply for industrial complex approval, accelerating project promotion to enable early commencement of construction.
County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, "To successfully create the industrial complex, we will establish a reasonable basic plan reflecting the demands of resident companies and local opinions, actively respond during consultations with related organizations, and make every effort to ensure the industrial complex development plan approval proceeds swiftly."
