Kim Youngsam, Daejeon City Council Member: "Overseas Business Trip Plans by Heads of Affiliated Organizations During Audit Period Show Disregard for the Council" Youngsam Kim, Daejeon City Council member, is asking a question on the 7th. / Daejeon City Council

On the 7th, during the administrative audit of the Future Strategic Industry Office at the Industrial and Construction Committee, Daejeon City Council member Kim Youngsam (People Power Party, Seogu District 2) criticized the audit attitude and poor management performance of the Daejeon Science and Industry Promotion Agency.

Kim pointed out that the head of the Daejeon Science and Industry Promotion Agency initially expressed his intention not to attend the audit due to an overseas business trip, but later reversed his decision and appeared. He criticized, "It is highly inappropriate for the head of an affiliated institution to attempt to avoid the audit by citing an overseas trip during the audit period."

He continued, "Planning an overseas business trip instead of attending the annual administrative audit is an act of disregarding the council, which represents the citizens," and demanded a responsible attitude from the heads of affiliated institutions toward the council.

Kim also pointed out, "In both 2022 and 2023, the Daejeon Science and Industry Promotion Agency received a 'D' grade in management performance, which is significantly lower than other institutions," and emphasized, "Specific measures must be established to improve the agency's efficiency and performance."

He further stated, "The pattern of major projects of the Science and Industry Promotion Agency being concentrated at the end of the year continues," urging, "In order to improve the inefficiency of budget execution, execution plans should be meticulously established in advance and thoroughly implemented."
