LINC3.0 Project Group, Industry-Academia-Research Linked Education Shows Remarkable Results
Hong Minji Wins Grand Prize, Cheon Dayeon Receives Consecutive Excellence Awards
Students who completed industry-academia-research linked educational programs such as capstone design and field training under the LINC 3.0 Project Group at Jeonbuk National University have consecutively won awards at the "Industry-Academia-Research Linked Curriculum Video Content Contest" held during the "2024 Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation EXPO" hosted by the Ministry of Education, proving the effectiveness of the project group’s education.
According to Jeonbuk National University on the 7th, at this competition, Minji Hong (4th year, Department of Architectural Engineering) won the Grand Prize, the Minister of Education Award, and Dayeon Cheon (4th year, Department of Chemical Engineering, majoring in Nano Chemical Engineering) received the Excellence Award (President of the Korean Academy of Engineering Award).

Jeonbuk National University was recorded as the university that won the Grand Prize for two consecutive years, following last year. The awards ceremony was held on the 6th at the main stage of BEXCO Exhibition Center 2 in Busan, and the winning works will be shared through an exhibition.
Minji Hong presented a video content titled "Build the Future," proposing a self-sufficient silver town model linked with the local community to prepare for a super-aged society. The video captured her career exploration experience through recognizing social issues and seeking solutions. This work received high praise based on the new perspectives and architectural approaches gained through participation in capstone design.
Dayeon Cheon also recorded her field training experience at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Jeonbuk Functional Composite Materials Research Center in a vlog format in her work titled "Researching the Future: A Day at KIST," vividly conveying the connection between industrial sites and university education. She attracted much attention by directly applying what she learned to practical work and experiencing the research process.
Minji Hong said, "This contest gave me a new perspective on social issues and inspired dreams and a spirit of challenge," adding, "I want to contribute to urban redevelopment through architecture in the future."
Chulgyu Song, Vice President for Research and Director of the LINC 3.0 Project Group, stated, "Universities, companies, and local communities are working together to foster creative talents," and added, "We will support universities to take the lead in turning small ideas into opportunities that change the world."
