Request for Support of Major Projects Including Semiconductor Convergence Center and Bongeopsa Site
Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City, Gyeonggi Province, met with Park Jung, Chairman of the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee, on the 6th to request an expansion of national funding support for the city's major projects.
At this meeting, Mayor Kim explained the reality of local governments facing a shortage of available resources due to a decrease in local allocation tax and an increase in fixed expenditures caused by inflation, and proposed adjustments to the ratios and expansion of financial support for national and local government subsidy projects.

Mayor Kim explained, "Although the subsidy ratio for national and local government subsidy projects is fixed, the actual proportion of project costs borne by local governments inevitably increases due to increased project volume or labor costs during implementation." She added that in cases such as the local currency support project, agricultural safety disaster insurance, and electric bus distribution project, demand is high, but subsidies are lower than requested amounts, increasing the burden on local governments.
Mayor Kim particularly requested national funding support for the city's major projects, including the establishment of the Semiconductor Convergence Center at Korea Polytechnic University Anseong Campus (41.3 billion KRW) and the Anseong Bong-eop Temple Site support project (6 billion KRW). She emphasized government-level cooperation and interest in line with Anseong City's changed status, such as the opening of the second Gyeongbu Expressway between Guri and Anseong and the designation of a specialized complex for semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment.
In response, Chairman Park said, "I am well aware of Anseong City's situation and will thoroughly review it to ensure maximum cooperation at the government level."
