Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, after the designation of Daegaya Ancient Capital, embarked on a study tour to three advanced ancient capital areas?Buyeo, Gongju, and Iksan?with about 20 local residents to facilitate the smooth promotion of the ancient capital preservation and development project.
Goryeong-gun is promoting the preservation and development project of the ancient capital of Daegaya and is conducting a "Study Tour of Advanced Cases in Ancient City Areas" for residents.
This study tour, held over one night and two days (November 6?7), aimed to enhance the capabilities of the residents and deepen their understanding of the ancient capital preservation and development project, so that the project can be carried out more smoothly in the future.
Residents from the designated ancient capital district and those interested in the future ancient capital residents' council participated, visiting ▲Iksan Geumma Ancient Capital District, Wanggung-ri Relics and Tap-ri Village ▲Gongju Hanok Village, King Muryeong’s Tomb and Royal Tomb Complex, Gongsanseong Fortress, Baekmi Village, and the streetscape improvement project area around Jemincheon Stream ▲Buyeo Gwanbuk-ri Relics and Hanok Village area.
Starting with Iksan City’s Geumma Ancient Capital District, participants listened to current projects and operational know-how from officials and guides of each city and county. They toured the sites of the ancient capital preservation project and the ancient capital image discovery project to understand how these projects were planned and executed, and discussed advanced cases that could be applied to their own region.
County Governor Lee Nam-cheol said, “I hope this study tour was very helpful for setting the direction of the Daegaya Ancient Capital preservation and development project, which is just taking its first steps, and for helping residents understand the project.” He added, “I ask all local residents to actively participate in the ancient capital preservation and development project so that improvements in living environments and regional vitality can contribute to the activation of local culture and economy, making Goryeong, the Daegaya Ancient Capital, a brilliant historical and cultural city.”
