Decorate Photo Spots on Entire Basement Level 2
Shinsegae Centum City has unveiled its Christmas decorations, kicking off the full-scale year-end atmosphere.
The decorations will conclude on the 8th at Hyperspace (Central Plaza).
This year, under the theme ‘Joy everywhere,’ the entire basement level 2 Hyperground has been transformed into photo spots, allowing customers to find Christmas joy throughout the space. Additionally, responding to the growing trend of ‘early Christmas,’ the decoration schedule was moved up by about a week compared to last year, enabling visitors to feel the Christmas spirit earlier.
In fact, the total number of customers from November to December 2023 increased by 23% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the growth rate of out-of-town visitors during this period was 21%, approximately three times higher than the annual average growth rate of 7%. Since the endemic phase, the number of ‘early Christmas’ celebrators starting from early November has been rising, and more out-of-town customers are adding visits to the Centum City branch, which boasts nationwide tourist infrastructure in Haeundae, to their year-end calendars.
This year, basement level 2 was designated as the main spot, with the entrance connected to Busan Metro Line 2 Centum City Station leading into the entire space up to Hyperspace, all decorated in a Christmas atmosphere.
First, the entrance covered with tree decorations welcomes customers, signaling the official start of the Christmas season. Upon entering, the soft lighting descending from the high ceiling creates an outdoor-like spatial feeling, and the media poles display Christmas videos to elevate the mood.
Next, the media wall located along the central pathway of Hyperground has been dressed in Christmas attire with various decorations such as ribbons and lights.
The highlight is Hyperspace, where a large media facade measuring 12 meters wide and 5 meters high above the entrance displays a video with the message ‘Holiday Magic in Every Moment.’
Upon entering Hyperspace, five crystal trees and 15,000 LED lights create an atmosphere reminiscent of the Milky Way, offering a special experience called the ‘Centum City version of Luminarie’ (a light festival decorating sculptures with bulbs).
Finally, the first-floor Centum Plaza void and ceiling are decorated with large ribbons and chandeliers, providing a warm year-end shopping experience.
