Folded Side Mirror Vehicles 'Pass'... Three High School Student Car Burglars Arrested

Three car thieves who targeted the condition of 'side mirrors' while roaming apartment parking lots were caught by the police. All three were revealed to be high school seniors.

Busan Haeundae Police Station announced on the 6th that they tracked down three suspects involved in a car theft incident that occurred in an underground parking lot in Haeundae-gu in the early morning of October 30 and arrested three teenage high school students in Gimhae, Gyeongnam on the 4th on charges of special theft.

Additionally, a woman in her 60s who runs a gold and silver shop and purchased precious metals from the suspects has been booked and is under investigation for professional negligence in acquiring stolen goods.

According to the police, the suspects chose cars with unlocked doors during early morning hours, searched inside, and stole precious metals or cash.

The three were found to have approached vehicles without hesitation that had side mirrors not folded in, recognizing the automatic door lock function to identify cars with open doors.

The police are investigating the suspects for additional crimes.
