Goryeong-gun (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) held a movie viewing event on the 5th at Daegaya Cinema for people with disabilities from the Goryeong-gun branch of the Korea Disabled Persons Association and St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center, together with Our Village Health Partners, to provide various cultural experiences for people with disabilities who are socially isolated and in cultural blind spots.
The movie viewing program, part of the Wise Rehabilitation Classroom, focuses on creating a space for communication and exchange that transcends the distinction between disabled and non-disabled individuals. After watching the film, all attendees had a valuable time freely sharing their opinions and thoughts with each other.
A representative from the Goryeong-gun Public Health Center stated, “We will continue to strive to develop various educational programs that can continuously improve cultural accessibility for people with disabilities,” adding, “Furthermore, through small joys in daily life, we will work to foster social empathy based on mutual help and respect, as well as improve awareness of disabilities.”
