Emphasized in 5-Minute Free Speech
Kim Hyang-ran, a member of the Geochang County Council in Gyeongnam, delivered a 5-minute free speech on the topic of "Strategies for Creating High Added Value from Clean Geochang Tourism Resources" at the 2nd plenary session of the 282nd extraordinary meeting held on the 5th.
Councilor Kim emphasized the positive impact on Geochang's tourism industry and local economy through the recent achievements and future plans of various projects being actively promoted to improve transportation networks and develop tourism resources in Geochang County.
Assemblywoman Kim Hyang-ran is delivering a 5-minute free speech at the 2nd plenary session of the 282nd extraordinary meeting.
She stated that the intercity bus service between Gajo and West Daegu, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed on November 1, and the intercity bus service to East Daegu will also resume from January 1 next year. This will be an important change that not only improves transportation convenience for Geochang residents but also enhances accessibility for tourists visiting Geochang.
She stressed that Geochang has great potential to revitalize its economy through the tourism industry, saying, “The tourism industry is called a smokeless factory and is an important industry that can contribute to creating added value and revitalizing the local economy. In the future, we must develop unique tourism content exclusive to Geochang through forest recreation, mountain sports, and experiential and healing programs.”
First, the Gamaksan Flower & Star Travel Festival, which attracted more than 350,000 visitors this year, shuttle bus operations and road condition improvements, the absence of a professional artistic director for the Geochang International Theater Festival and issues with new theater construction, placement of local food around the entrance to Goje Forest Sports Park, expansion of budget support for youth festivals, remodeling of existing tourism content, and enhancement of facilities for new experiential events such as hiking trails and barefoot paths around major tourist sites, as well as developing and selling various agricultural products and goods produced locally, would greatly help revitalize the Geochang local economy and further strengthen Geochang’s image.
