Establishing a Global-Level Information Security Management System
Kyungdong Navien announced on the 6th that it has simultaneously obtained the international information security standard certifications for Information Security Management System (ISO27001) and Privacy Information Management System (ISO27701).
The ‘ISO27001’ and ‘ISO27701’ certifications acquired by Kyungdong Navien this time are the highest authority certifications in the field of information security established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). ‘ISO27001’ requires passing an audit process covering four control areas: organization, personnel, physical, and technical, with 93 items. ‘ISO27701’ can only be obtained by meeting 49 criteria across eight areas including privacy protection systems and service reliability. Considering the recent increase in cyber security threats and the growing importance of information protection, Kyungdong Navien voluntarily pursued the certification to more strongly protect customer personal information.

This certification acquisition is a measure to ensure that not only customers using the official online shopping mall ‘Navien House,’ where various products can be purchased, but also users of the ‘Navien Smart’ app, which helps control Kyungdong Navien’s various products such as boilers and sleep mats via smartphones, can all have their personal information securely protected.
Park Seong-geun, Chief Information Security Officer of Kyungdong Navien, said, “We will systematically manage and protect personal information so that customers can use our products and services with peace of mind,” adding, “We will continue to strive to advance our information security management system to the highest global standards.”
