A famous Brazilian model has revealed that she spends about 18 million KRW every month on 'salmon semen injections' for buttock care, sparking public interest.

According to the British media outlet The Mirror on the 3rd, Jana?na Prazeres (35), a model from Brazil, spends approximately ?10,000 (about 18 million KRW) each month receiving salmon semen injections in her buttocks to enhance their firmness and volume. The salmon semen injections Jana?na receives are also known as 'polynucleotide therapy.' This method involves injecting purified, filtered, and sterilized salmon semen DNA into the skin.

When polynucleotides, which are purified DNA extracts from salmon semen, are injected into the skin, they are known to promote the production of collagen and keratinocytes (skin cells responsible for forming the outer layer), increasing skin thickness and elasticity while enhancing moisture retention. Additionally, polynucleotides injected into the skin help cells grow healthier and improve skin density and elasticity. They also reduce and soothe skin inflammation, which has been reported by some to alleviate skin issues such as acne, broken capillaries, pigmentation, and rosacea.

Jana?na said, "I found it interesting to learn that salmon semen makes the buttocks firmer," adding, "I will continue to visit the clinic regularly to maintain my buttocks." With over 600,000 Instagram followers, Jana?na revealed, "Besides the salmon semen injections, I have invested about ?750,000 (approximately 1.3 billion KRW) in my appearance so far," showing strong pride in her beauty care.

However, the effectiveness of salmon semen injections has not been fully verified. If the procedure is performed deeply into the skin, it may cause inflammation or bacterial infection. Also, since allergic reactions to salmon DNA extracts can occur, people with fish allergies are likely to react sensitively to this ingredient, so caution is necessary.
