Comparison of Q&A Quality in Korean Tests Conducted In-House
The Evolution of AI Search: The Great Clash Between ChatGPT Search and the Old Version
Scheduled for Release on Apple and Android Markets
Artificial intelligence (AI) company Saltlux is showing strong performance. The news that AI search engine startup Perplexity AI is in the final stages of securing a $500 million (approximately 690 billion KRW) investment at a valuation of $9 billion (about 12 trillion KRW) appears to be influencing the stock price.
At 10:02 a.m. on the 6th, Saltlux was trading at 20,450 KRW, up 22.97% from the previous day.
The Korean version of Perplexity, ‘Guber,’ whose preview version has received great response with over 100,000 AI reports generated in the past two months, has been officially released.
Guber is a service launched by the U.S. Silicon Valley company Guber, whose largest shareholder is AI company Saltlux. It explores global web information and paid subscription services to provide optimized answers and sources, and features ▲automatically generated AI reports ▲convenient social media sharing ▲adding personal data and subscribed websites ▲customized content recommendations, enabling users to quickly obtain desired information and gain insights amid the flood of information.
In a Korean language test comparing Q&A quality conducted independently by Guber, it recorded 98% accuracy and 97% freshness, significantly surpassing Perplexity’s 70% and 68%, respectively. It also scored higher in freshness compared to ChatGPT Search. A company representative said, "Based on Guber’s excellent performance, we will rapidly establish our position in the global AI search market as well as in Korea."
The Guber preview version added a ‘deep answer’ feature that provides more detailed responses. The formats of selectable automatically generated AI reports have diversified to include ‘comparison reports’ and ‘social media postings.’ Reports can be saved as PDF and MS Word files, and users can quickly regenerate AI reports by adding new questions or adding or deleting references.
A ‘Guber Chrome Extension’ feature was added, allowing users to save news articles, blogs, and videos with a single click within the Guber service. This greatly enhances the usability of information by enabling users to utilize useful content discovered incidentally while web surfing without missing it.
There is growing expectation that Guber will show steep growth similar to Perplexity, triggered by the upcoming release of the Guber mobile app on Apple and Android markets next week.
Joshua Bae, head of Guber, said, "We plan to further expand the types of automatically generated reports to include research papers and trend reports, and also implement AI voice-based customized podcasts so users can listen to information in real time even on the subway during their commute." He added, "Based on solid AI technology that is not behind global companies, we will lead the future AI search market."
