About 150 people attended the opening ceremony, including Kang Su-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, Choi Ho-seong of Deokjeong Village Management Social Cooperative, Yoon Chang-cheol, Chairman of Yangju City Council, city council members, heads of institutions and organizations, and residents.

The Wagle Wagle Center is a hub facility promoted as part of the Deokjeong Urban Regeneration New Deal project selected in October 2019. To create the Wagle Wagle Center, the city purchased the site of the former Deokjeong Police Substation in July 2022 and invested a total project cost of 5.74 billion KRW, including national and provincial subsidies. The center was completed in August this year with four floors above ground and a total floor area of 992.72㎡.

The first floor of the Wagle Wagle Center operates as a village cafe, and the second floor serves as a children's education experience center, both managed by the Deokjeong Village Management Social Cooperative. The third floor is an education-specialized space used in collaboration with local universities as university classrooms and as an educational space for the lifelong learning center for local residents. The fourth floor is scheduled to open in December this year as a Small Business Support Center, responsible for the education and growth of local small business owners.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, “We will do our best to help Deokjeong regain new vitality and develop through the Wagle Wagle Center.”

Meanwhile, the village cafe and children's creative playground inside the Wagle Wagle Center, operated by the Deokjeong Village Management Social Cooperative, officially opened starting from this opening ceremony, and the third-floor educational space has been designated as the Deokjeong Lifelong Learning Center for local residents and will begin operation from the 5th.
