At the event, Superintendent Seo introduced the 'Top 10 Key Tasks' for Jeonbuk education this year, including ▲building AI-based future classrooms and strengthening digital teaching capabilities ▲expanding the International Baccalaureate (IB) program ▲activating career and college entrance education ▲fostering regionally specialized specialized high schools.
Participants freely shared their opinions on the operation of specialized high schools. The principals discussed necessary issues on the front lines, such as ▲discovering employment places by region and extending the period of on-the-job training ▲adjusting the number of students per class and reducing the minimum recruitment number for specialized high schools ▲expanding the target audience for Jeonbuk online school courses, brainstorming ways to improve.
Yeom Taekseon, principal of Gangho Aviation High School, expressed the opinion, "In the situation where support rates for specialized high schools have decreased, it would be good to introduce specialized high schools during middle school career exploration or discretionary activity time."
Lee Seokjin, principal of Namwon Yongseong High School, said, "I hope the Office of Education will discover regional employment places considering the characteristics of specialized high schools in the province and connect capable students to employment."
Superintendent Seo emphasized, "Specialized high schools are educational institutions optimized to provide practical education and strengthen field-centered expertise to meet the rapidly changing social demands and regional industrial development. We will do our best to support specialized high school students to dream about their future through customized education."
