5·18 Education Center... Lectures by Shin Juback and Joo Hong
Gwangju City announced on the 5th that, as part of democratic citizenship education, it will hold a "Democratic History Talk Concert" at 2 p.m. on the 7th at the 5·18 Democratization Movement Education Center.
In the lecture, historian Professor Shin Ju-baek of Sungkonghoe University and healing artist writer Joo Hong will shed light on "Gwangju's Democratic History." Professor Shin will give a lecture titled "The Context of Independence and National Defense and Gwangju's Modern and Contemporary Experience - Finding the Stepping Stones of Urban History Design," while writer Joo Hong will present on "Healing Art and Sand Art."
The lecture will be live-streamed on the "Democratic Citizenship Education" YouTube channel, allowing anyone to listen regardless of location.
Park Yong-su, Director of the Democracy, Human Rights, and Peace Bureau of Gwangju City, said, "I hope this talk concert will be an opportunity to take pride in Gwangju's proud democratic history," and added, "We will continue to discover and promote high-quality democratic citizenship education content for citizens."
