Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the '2024 Pyeongtaek International Peace and Security Forum' at the Lotte Hotel Seoul on the 7th.

The forum, themed 'The Situation on the Korean Peninsula After the U.S. Presidential Election,' consists of two sessions: ▲ Strategic Competition in Northeast Asia and the ROK-U.S. Alliance ▲ The Core of the Economic Security Era, Directions for the Semiconductor Industry Response.


Pyeongtaek hosts Camp Humphreys, the largest overseas U.S. military base, and the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command. Through this forum, the city plans to explore cooperation measures to respond to changing security situations and its role as a key axis for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.


Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, stated, "We will actively incorporate the forum's discussion results into city administration," adding, "Through this, we expect Pyeongtaek to soar as an international city playing a leading role in various fields such as economy, technology, and culture."
