Song Jaeseop, the newly appointed 11th Standing Auditor of Korea Western Power, officially began his duties on the 4th, outlining key audit goals such as promoting integrity and expanding a culture of proactive administration.

Song Jaeseop, who previously worked at Korea Western Power, returns as Standing Auditor three years after retiring in 2021 from his last position as Head of the Planning Division.
In his inaugural address, Standing Auditor Song encouraged the employees for their efforts in leading the company through challenging management environments and fostering its growth, stating, "I will do my utmost to achieve the company's vision, carrying a heavy sense of responsibility as a partner in management activities alongside all executives and employees."
He further emphasized, "I will focus on moving away from audits centered on detection, and instead dedicate myself to preventive policy audits, strengthening internal control systems, expanding and internalizing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management, among other priorities."
Standing Auditor Song also presented a practical audit approach based on his 35 years of field experience.
Song Jaeseop stated, "I will strengthen the consulting audit function to ensure that simple mistakes made during work processes do not result in disciplinary actions or disadvantages," adding, "We will ensure that employees and departments handling their duties proactively with creativity and expertise are properly recognized."
Meanwhile, Standing Auditor Song Jaeseop joined Korea Electric Power Corporation in 1986 and transferred to Korea Western Power in 2001 when the power generation subsidiaries were spun off. He has held key positions such as Head of the Audit Office, Head of Management Support, Head of Planning, Head of New Growth Business Division, and Head of the Planning Division.
