Calls for Improvement in 'School Bidet Installation and Instrument Rental'

Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member Kim Jin-nam (Democratic Party of Korea·Suncheon 5) intensely questioned the construction and utilization of the online integrated reservation system (school facility reservation) during the administrative audit at the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education headquarters on the 4th.

On that day, Assemblyman Kim said, "The Provincial Office of Education promoted through media reports in July that the online integrated reservation system (school facility reservation) was fully launched in the second half of this year. However, when I accessed the homepage, the reservation system was completely unresponsive," and strongly criticized, "Why did they engage in media play when the system construction was a mess?"

He added, "The term 'full launch' means it should be immediately usable. Although the pages were well designed, it was completely impossible to use," and urged, "I hope the great transformation of Jeonnam education does not take a U-turn."

In response, Finance Director Oh Jun-heon said, "Since the launch in July, we have provided system usage guidance and training to frontline schools, but unfortunately, it was not properly conducted," and added, "We will recheck the field and provide training on how to use the system to ensure normal operation."

Additionally, Assemblyman Kim pointed out issues regarding the installation of bidets in elementary, middle, and high school restrooms and musical instrument rentals. In particular, he said, "Bidets used by staff are installed at a rate of 45.3%, but for students, it is only 14.1%. The problem is discrimination, so measures must be taken to prevent discrimination," and demanded improvement, stating, "Student welfare should be prioritized when allocating budgets."
