Yeoju City Receives Encouragement Award in Gyeonggi-do Si/Gun Agricultural Policy Performance Evaluation

Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 4th that it was selected as an outstanding institution in the 2024 Gyeonggi Province City and County Agricultural Administration Evaluation conducted by Gyeonggi Province.

The Gyeonggi Province City and County Agricultural Administration Evaluation is conducted by Gyeonggi Province to strengthen the linkage between major provincial agricultural tasks and city/county policies and to discover innovative agricultural policies. The 31 cities and counties within Gyeonggi Province are divided into two groups (rural-urban type and urban type) and evaluated through document review and special policy evaluation across 33 fields including agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. Outstanding cities and counties are selected and awarded commendations and incentives.

Yeoju City received the "Encouragement Award" by achieving generally high scores in all evaluation categories, including general indicators and contribution to provincial administration, for its agricultural activities over one year from September 2023 to August 2024.

A Yeoju City official stated, "We will not be satisfied with receiving the Encouragement Award and will continue to promote various projects befitting the nation's only rice industry special zone and do our best for the development of Yeoju's agricultural administration."

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Gyeonggi Province Farmers' Day event in November, where two commendations (one institutional commendation and one public official commendation) and an incentive of 5 million KRW will be awarded.
