HD Hyundai Infrastructure Develops Clean Ammonia and Hydrogen Power Generation Systems

Strategic Partnership between US AMOZIE and SK Innovation
Entering Clean Hydrogen Power Generation Using Hydrogen Engine Technology

HD Hyundai Infracore is embarking on clean energy power generation using hydrogen derived from ammonia decomposition.

On the 4th, HD Hyundai Infracore announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with the US company AMOGY and SK Innovation to develop a clean ammonia and hydrogen power generation system.

They plan to commercialize a hydrogen engine power generation system that uses clean hydrogen decomposed from ammonia as fuel by 2027.

HD Hyundai Infracore will develop a 22ℓ-class hydrogen fuel cell engine for power generation, while AMOGY will develop an "ammonia cracker," equipment that decomposes ammonia to produce clean hydrogen. The three companies will also collaborate to explore commercialization opportunities for the jointly developed power generation solution.

Through HD Hyundai Infracore's clean ammonia and hydrogen power generation system, they plan to enter the distributed power generation system market and the clean hydrogen power generation bidding market opened by the government.

HD Hyundai Infracore's 11-liter hydrogen engine "HX12" was selected as the best product in the hydrogen industry by the media at the hydrogen industry exhibition "H2 MEET 2024" held in September.

A representative of HD Hyundai Infracore stated, "We will contribute to revitalizing the clean hydrogen power generation market by integrating cutting-edge hydrogen engine technology and ammonia decomposition technology," adding, "We will enhance commercial viability in the long term and continue to explore various business opportunities."
