Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is hosting a challenge event to enjoy the district’s brand song, ‘Meet Me in Dobong,’ in a more fun way.

The district announced that from November 4 to 24, it will hold the brand song dance challenge, ‘Dance with DDC (Dobong Dance Challenge).’

The choreography for the dance challenge was developed by a local young choreographer who has been active in Dobong-gu for over 10 years. It expresses Dobongsan Mountain and the district’s urban brand identity (BI).

The participation method is simple. Submit the dance challenge video along with the application form to the person in charge via email, and then post the video on personal social networking services (SNS) or YouTube.

The total prize money is 2.8 million KRW. Based on a comprehensive evaluation of expert judging and SNS and YouTube performance, one grand prize team (1 million KRW), two excellence prize teams (500,000 KRW each), and four encouragement prize teams (200,000 KRW each) will be selected.

Additionally, coffee gifticons will be provided through a raffle.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I hope the fever for the Dobong-gu brand song that swept last year continues with this dance challenge. We ask for the enthusiastic participation of those full of talent and passion.”

Last July, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dobong-gu’s establishment, the district released the brand song ‘Meet Me in Dobong.’ The song was sung by singer Kim Kyung-ho, attracting much attention. In August of the following month, the song was officially registered as a music track.

The brand song, which gained nationwide popularity, was reborn through a contest held in the first half of this year. The contest-winning work and the dance version used in this challenge will later be produced as the ‘Dobong-gu Brand Song Special Album’ and officially released on major domestic and international music platforms.

A district official said, “Please look forward to this album, which aims for genre diversification.”
