Oh Se-hoon: "Opposition's Presidential Term Reduction Amendment Meeting, Emphasis on Lee Jae-myung's Protection"

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the opposition faction's proposal to form a 'Preparatory Group for the Constitutional Amendment to Shorten the Term of Office,' saying, "Ultimately, it is focused on shielding Representative Lee Jae-myung."

On the 1st, Mayor Oh posted on Facebook, "Is the constitution the personal property of Representative Lee Jae-myung?" He made this statement after opposition parties such as the Democratic Party and the Innovation Party of Jo Guk formed a 'Preparatory Group for the Constitutional Amendment to Shorten the Term of Office' and began recruiting lawmakers.

Mayor Oh wrote, "This month alone, two first-instance rulings regarding Representative Lee Jae-myung are expected," adding, "The pro-Lee Jae-myung group is adopting a strategy to launch even stronger offensives toward Yongsan."

He continued, "It appears they intend to counter judicial risks with impeachment and constitutional amendments to pave a 'flower path' for Lee's presidential bid," and criticized, "The total mobilization of all systems for Lee's presidential candidacy is a sight to behold."

Mayor Oh stated, "The Democratic Party has consecutively proposed bills pressuring prosecutors and judges, and has attempted to incapacitate not only the Korea Communications Commission but also the Constitutional Court," adding, "Now, are they treating even the constitution as merely a means for an early presidential election favoring Lee? The Democratic Party is destroying democracy by exploiting democratic institutions; the name is undeserved."
