Gwangjin-gu's '2024 Kondae Mat-ui-gil Food Culture Festival' to be Held on the 7th

Festival Blending Food and Culture on the 7th at Kondaechungchun Tteurak Area
Exciting Attractions Including Anju Contest, Instant Cooking Show, Dance Performances
Booths Featuring Sandwich Making, Food Poisoning Prevention Campaign, Photo Zone, and More

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 7th that it will hold the ‘2024 Konkuk University Taste Street Food Culture Festival’ around the Cheongchun Tteureok area near Konkuk University.


Konkuk University Taste Street is a street frequented by many young people as Konkuk University and Sejong University are adjacent. It is one of the representative streets of the area, bustling with fashion, beauty, and popular restaurants.


The Food Culture Festival, hosted by the Konkuk Shopping District Promotion Association (President Lee Ok-hee), is an event to widely promote Konkuk University Taste Street and to enjoy food and culture together. Marking its 15th year this year, the festival prepares various attractions and food for local residents and visitors.


The pre-event starts at 5 PM. There will be a pungmul troupe parade and an instant cooking show. This will be followed by the opening ceremony and the main event. The performances, including invited singer shows, street dance, and DJ shows, are tailored to young sensibilities.

There are also plenty of side events. ▲Anju (side dish) contest ▲Sandwich making experience ▲Promotion of healthy eating habits and food poisoning prevention ▲Caricature and photo zone installations, all prepared to delight the eyes, nose, and palate.


In particular, at the Anju contest, participants can taste and evaluate representative dishes from each store for free and have a chance to win prizes.


Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Konkuk University Taste Street is a vibrant place where youth and culture come together. We hope you come to the Konkuk University Taste Street Festival and have a great time enjoying delicious food.” He added, “We will actively communicate and work with merchants so that more citizens can visit Konkuk University Taste Street.”
